Description: A notice to verify regulated size aboveground storage tanks (AST) was brought to our department's attention by the Petroleum Cleanup Site Manager. Two tanks that were of regulated size were documented as being on site at the facility at a Petroleum Restoration Site Visit conducted on 05/20/2020. The facility is in the process of getting an Site Rehabilitation Completion Order once the Well Abandonment occurs but the registration has to be updated with the corrected address and all regulated tanks need to be registered before the order can be issued. Three regulated size ASTs were noted at the time of inspection. Two of the three tanks can be seen from the road. The third tank is within the pole barn that houses the tractors for the farm. Tanks closet to the Road: One tank appears to be about 12,000 gallons and the other appears to be 2,000 installed on a concrete slab. The 2,000 gallon tank did not appear to be in use as the piping was disconnected and there was not a pump or dispenser hose installed. The tank had a valve at the bottom to check the interstice. The tank did have surface rust starting to form. The 12,000 gallon Alabama Tank containing Red Dyed Diesel. The AST had a pump that was connected to a generator on the ground with a dispenser hose connected to the pump. The piping from the tank to the dispenser pump, closest to the elbow at the tank had 3 active leaks at 3 connection points along the piping that was dripping on the concrete slab. Product has accumulated and stained the surrounding concrete. The fill ports for both tanks were positioned on top of 5 gallon buckets. The tank is equipped with vents and emergency vents. There did not appear to be any overfill or release detection device installed on the tank. The tank is coated in rust that needs to be removed and a rust preventative paint applied to the tank. Tank at Pole Barn: Tank appears to be about 1,000 to 1,500 gallons. It is equipped with a top of tank Fill-Rite pump, Krueger Fuel Level gauge and emergency vent. There is no spill/fill containment bucket at the fill port, vent or release detection device. The tank pump is equipped to be easily hooked up with a battery when the pump is needed for use. Spoke with Mr. Wesley Wiggins regarding having the 3 ASTs registered and the address updated to reflect 1931 S Hwy 99 (Currently registered as N Hwy 99). We also discussed what needs to be done to bring the tanks into compliance. A registration form with instructions was left with Mr. Wiggins to fill out and submit back to our office for review. Once we receive the registration form back, we will submit to Tank Registration for processing. Per Mr. Wiggins, the fuel supplier is Davison Fuels.
