Description: *** A waiver from the Fire Marshal from this District has granted a waiver, allowing both tanks to be installed with 0ft separation instead of the 3 feet between tank separation. This waiver will need to remain on file with the AST records until the tanks are properly closed. EQUIPMENT INSTALLED: TANK A: 2251-gallon Double-Wall (DW), steel, Sub-Base, Fidelity Manufacturing, LLC , Aboveground Storage Tank containing diesel fuel to power an emergency generator (EQ-497). TANK B: 2251-gallon Double-Wall (DW), steel, Sub-Base, Fidelity Manufacturing, LLC , Aboveground Storage Tank containing diesel fuel to power an emergency generator (EQ-497). SPILL CONTAINMENT: Fidelity Manufacturing, LLC 7.5 Gallon Spill Containment for ASTs installed by Fidelity Manufacturing, LLC that came equipped from the manufacturer for both tanks (EQ-778). PIPING: Single wall, steel, coated piping that is all aboveground for the Supply and Return line. RELEASE DETECTION / LEAK DETECTION: FPI Sensors International, Leak Detection Switch (EQ-817). OVERFILL PROTECTION: FPI Sensors International, High Fuel Switch (EQ-817) and Rochester Fuel Level Gauge (EQ-901). Our office received a phone call from Culpepper construction regarding the installation of two Emergency Generators that are being supplied by regulated size, sub-base ASTs. Our office reached out to the listed owner and requested a work notification form, current placard, EQ list and site diagram. The wellhead information was provided by the NW District Office. The tanks are registered as Tank A and Tank B. Both are 2251 gallon, Double-Wall (DW), steel, sub-base, Aboveground Storage Tank, Fidelity Manufacturing, LLC (EQ-750). Each tank came equipped with a spill/fill box from the manufacturer (EQ-778). The tank has been equipped with a FPI Sensors International, Leak Detection Switch (EQ-817) for leak/release detection and with FPI Sensors International, High Fuel Switch (EQ-817) and Rochester Fuel Level Gauge (EQ-901) for overfill protection. Both sub-base ASTs have been installed side by side and a generator enclosure that covers both tanks as a whole, covers both tanks with two separate engines for each tank inside the one enclosure. The Fire Marshal for the district has issued a waiver to allow the tanks to not have the 3 foot separation between tanks for this facility. This waiver will need to remain with the tank records until the tanks are properly closed. The tank is also equipped with a primary emergency vent and secondary emergency vent. For piping, this system is equipped with single wall, steel, coated piping that is all aboveground for the supply and return piping that run from the tank top to the generator itself which is next to the tank. The piping has been painted yellow with a rust preventative paint. The tank is bolted down to an eight-inch-thick concrete pad. The tank’s interstitial, interstitial switch, overfill high level alarm, fuel level gauge and spill/fill box were tested prior to the system being placed into service. Please note that the Primary Overfill Device and the Rupture Basin Alarm are to be tested annually each year in July and the testing records provided to the inspector for each year at the time of Routine Tank Compliance Inspections. Monthly visual inspections for tank exterior and all tank related equipment will be required to be documented each month, not to exceed 35 days and the records provided to the inspection at the time of Routine Tank Compliance Inspections. An Emergency Generator Checklist will be provided with this Installation Inspection to Ms. Gainer for use if the facility does not already have a monthly visual form. All components of this AST system appear to have been installed according to manufactures instructions.
