My initial concern is that these sites were not discovered by a routine compliance inspection by Orange County Environmental Protection (OCEPD) as stated In the warning letter. These sites were discovered by an internal audit by my office and then reported to OCEPD. We then registered these sites and paid the back fees along with sending a testing company to perform all required testing. Please let me know when we can discuss this further. If you all cannot determine the tank manufacturers (EQ#s) for the tanks with bad/old labels the equipment will eventually need to be replaced with approved equipment. -The same goes for the sensors installed for overfill protection, and release detection. If these sensor manufacturers (EQ#s) cannot be determined with documentation they will need to be replaced with approved equipment. Maybe your contractor can attempt to verify all of these areas of concern for you all..... -The following tanks did not have a fill port containment installed. Approved fill port containments shall be installed as soon as possible. -New Smyrna Beach HS -David C Hinson Middle School 700 gallon tank I will not be able to keep these reports open for much longer since the equipment has been in use for all of these years. Once the reports are closed you will have 90 days for corrective action prior to being referred to the FDEP for enforcement to be clear.
