| Description: | During an installation inspection of Tank #1 on 12/02/2024, a 2,000-gallon Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) containing Vehicular Diesel was discovered on site that had previously been in use and being filled by Great Lake Petroleum. since January 2024 and was not registered with our office. The FDEP EQ Number of the tanks are unknown currently. It appears the tank could be (EQ-681) Pee Dee Tank Company of SC LLC, Double-Wall UL Listed Aboveground Storage Tank, UL File No. MH12846. The delivery date of the tank system is unknown. The tank was being rented from Great Lakes Petroleum who also supplies the fuel. The tank does appear to be installed with release detection The tank does not appear to have an overfill prevention device and dispenser hose is missing a breakaway device. There are no monthly visual inspections for the tank. To proceed with a closure of the AST System, the following requirements must be met: submitting a Closure Work Notification Form within a 30 to 45- day timeframe for closure activities, providing a Waste Manifest for the product contained in the tank or a written statement explaining the disposition of the storage tank's contents, and, depending on the tank's subsequent use after closure, potentially submitting a tank recycle form. Additionally, an updated registration form indicating the removal of the tank from the site must be submitted. Finally, since the tank is not in contact with soil, a Limited Closure Report Form must be submitted to this office within 60 days following the completion of closure activities. This facility will be immediately referred to enforcement due to having fuel deposited into the tank without a Storage Tank Registration Placard and for having no Pollutant Liability Insurance for the tank during it operation. Tank #1 is a 6,000 gallons Steel Tank Institute, Flameshield and F921 UL-142 Listed Aboveground Storage Tank (EQ-677) that contains Vehicular Diesel. The tank is equipped with a Morrison Bros. Co. Morrison Clock Gauge (EQ-823) for overfill prevention and Krueger Sentry Gauge Co. Inc. AT-A-GLANCE Leak Gauge (EQ-675) for release detection. The AST System is also equipped with a Morrison Bros. Co. Morrison Model 515 Remote Fill (EQ-535). Furthermore, the tank is equipped with a primary emergency vent and secondary emergency vent. For piping, everything is aboveground and not in contact with the soil. The dispenser pumps are tank top dispenser pumps. All components of the AST System (Tank #1) appear to have been installed according to manufacturer’s instructions. No violations issued at the time of inspection. | ||||||||||
