For systems with flow shut off devices, lift the fill port cover, pop the cap, and view down the drop tube to verify the flow shut off exists. Has the overfill method been bypassed? (Look for broken off product sticks.) If an overfill event has occurred at the facility, check maximum product levels on the inventory records. Obtain the actual versus nominal tank volume. In general, metal tanks hold more product than their nominal rating, while FRP tanks hold less than their nominal rating. Recommend that the high level alarm system be function tested yearly. | Description: | Comment 5-12-11: EQD contacted Edward Washington VP of Gate Riverplace Co on 5-11-11 to inquire about the status and purpose of tank the 8,000 gallon UST . Mr. Washington referred the facility engineer Kevin Winn. Mr. Winn informed me the 8,000 gallon UST is to supply fuel for emergency backup heating and emergency backup generator. EQD has arranged to inspect the tank system next week. The property record shows Gulf Life Insurance Co sold the property to Gate Riverplace Co December 1, 1993. A registration will be submitted to show change in tank status and current owner information. 5-25-11 EQD e-mailed the facility representative the general findings of the site visit and e-mailed an updated and signed tank registration to FDEP. 5-26-11 Mr. Winn provided EQD information about the tank interstitial sensor. It is a Gems Sensors Inc. RS10B high/low liquid level sensor. The make and model sensor is not on the FDEP approved equipment list. Mr. Winn also stated he will have KC Petroleum evaluate the tank system. 6-16-11 Kathleen Paul from FDEP Tanks Registration replied to Mr. Winn to confirm if the information submitted on the 5-25-11 registration form was correct. Mr. Winn then replied back confirming the information was correct. 6-28-11 FDEP Tanks Registration updated facility, responsible party, and tank information. 8-18-11 Mr. Winn informed EQD KC Petroleum has evaluated the system and is scheduled to commence work to bring it into compliance 8-29-11. 8-19-11 Received CFR signed 5-1-11 and self insurance mechanism effective 5-1-11 through 12-31-11. 8-22-11 EQD completed complaint inspection and e-mailed the inspection to Kevin Winn at kwinn@gateriverplace.com Lisa Semak (Terry) at LSemak@gatepetro.com. | ||||||||||
