01/24/2012 Site Inspection Routine; Non-Handler - Routine; Used Oil Generator B And K Diesel Electric Service Inc (Bk) Was Inspected On January 24, 2012, As An Unannounced Hazardous Waste Compliance Inspection. The Trane Co. First Notified With The Dep In 1992 That They Were Operating At This Location As A Small Quantity Generator (Sqg) Of Hazardous Waste, And It Had Not Previously Been Inspected. Bk Has Been Operating At This Location For Approximately 20 Years. At The Time Of The Inspection, The Facility Was Operating As A Non-Handler Of Hazardous Waste And A Used Oil Generator. The Facility Has Been Assigned The Epa Id Number Fld984228858. Please Use This Number On All Hazardous Waste Manifests And On Future Correspondence With The Dep. | Bk Is A Commercial Generator Repair And Maintenance Business. The Facility Performs The Majority Of Its Work In The Field, And It Uses This Location For Parts Storage And Some Engine Rebuilding. The Facility Repairs The Generator On The Owner'S Site, And Will Bring Any Spare Parts Or Fluids That Are Removed Back To Its Location. The Facility Has Two Tanks Located Inside The Shop To Store Used Oil (Photo 1), And Several 55-Gallon Drums To Accumulate Used Oil Filters (Photo 2). These Containers And Tanks Were Properly Labeled. The Facility Was Informed That It May Not Transport More Than 55 Gallons Used Oil In Its Company Vehicles Without Becoming A Registered Used Oil Transporter In The State Of Florida. The Facility Transports Used Oil And Drains Used Oil Filters Into Several 5-Gallon Buckets (Photos 3-4). These Buckets Were Not Labeled With The Words "Used Oil" [40 Cfr 279.22(C)(1)]. These Containers Were Labeled During The Inspection. The Facility Also Has One Crystal Clean Parts Washer On-Site. Interstate Launders The Facility'S Shop Rags. Records: Crystal Clean Recycles The Facility'S Used Oil, Used Oil Filters, And Antifreeze. The Facility'S Parts Washer Is Also Serviced By Crystal Clean As A Non-Hazardous Waste. All Records Were On-Site And Available For Review. The Last Disposal Was On 5/18/11 With A Volume Of 200 Gallons Of Used Oil, 100 Gallons Of Oily Water, And 300 Gallons Of Antifreeze. | Hard Copy Approved | Submitted For Approval By Breland, Jabe
