Routine; Used Oil Transporter - Routine; Used Oil Transfer Facility Tg Oil Services, Inc. (Tg), Was Inspected By The Florida Department Of Environmental Protection (Department) On December 15, 2023, To Determine The Facility'S Compliance With State And Federal Hazardous Waste Regulations Governing Used Oil Transporters (Uots). The Facility Originally Notified As A Uot On December 7, 2022, And Most Recently Re-Notified As A Used Oil Transporter/ Transfer Facility (Expires 6/30/2024) On March 27, 2023. This Was The Department'S First Inspection Of The Facility. Department Inspectors Were Assisted By The Central Florida Branch Manager, Chris Gochin, For The Duration Of The Inspection. | Tg Primarily Services Elevators For Serval Different Businesses Throughout South And Central Florida. Services Range From Draining Oily Water To Repairing And Sealing Elevator Pits. The Facility Is Located In Bay E Within A Larger Building That Is Subleased To Several Different Businesses. The Facility Includes A Small Office Area Along The South Entrance Of The Building, With A Small Warehouse At The North End, And Accompanying Bay Door. The Bay Is Used For Hauling Used Oil (Uo) In And Out Of The Building By Vehicle. Currently, There Are Only Two Staff Members At Tg, And All Services Are Conducted On An As Need Basis, As The Facility Is 24/7 Dispatch. The Facility Had Adequate Safety Equipment And Fire Extinguishers Throughout. Tg Is Connected To The City Of Tampa'S Water And Sewer. Led Lighting Is Utilized Throughout The Facility.
All Work Is Performed In The Field, As Businesses Call The Facility When Their Elevators Need Servicing. A Tg Technician Will Be Dispatched To Customer Job Sites Once The Work Orders Are Approved For Service. The Facility Generates The Majority Of Its Uo From Offsite Repairs, Cleanings, And Maintenance Of Elevators. During A Service Call, Tg Will Load Empty Drums And Equipment Onto Their Box Truck. At The Job Site, Tg Will Vacuum Out Uo Directly Into The Drums, Seal And Label Them. Any Oily Sludge Taken During The Repair Is Loaded Into A Separate Drum, Labeled, And Sealed. Process Knowledge And Halogen Test Strips Are Used On Oily Sludge To Determine If It'S Non-Hazardous Or Hazardous Waste. Since Tg Fully Services Elevators (Replaces And Drains Oil, Repairs, Etc.) They Are The Co-Generator Of Any Waste Generated From These Processes. Tg Shall Ensure Any Sludge Not Generated From The Elevator Repairs (Other Clients) Undergoes A Waste Determination By The Generator In Order To Ensure Hazardous Waste Is Not Transported. All Uo And Sludge Is Transported Back To The Facility And Placed In Their Central Accumulation Area. Each 55-Gallon Drum Of Uo Is Then Quickly Pumped Into The Facility'S Vacuum Truck Within 24-Hours.
Administrative Office
An Office For The Central Florida Branch Manager Is Located On The South End Of The Building. There Is No Hazardous Waste Generated Or Stored In The Office Area.
Warehouse
The Warehouse Is Located At The Northern End Of The Building, Behind The Associated Administrative Office. It Is Primarily Used For The Storage Of Equipment, Tools, And Vehicles (One Vacuum Truck And One Box Truck). On The Western Side Of The Warehouse Tg Stacks Empty 55-Gallon Metal Drums Along The Wall For Future Use On Service Calls. There Is No Hazardous Waste Generated Or Stored In The Warehouse.
Centrla Accumulation Area (Caa)
The Caa Is Located Adjacent To The Bay Door, At The Northwestern End Of The Warehouse. All Drums Of Waste Generated From Job Sites Are Stored Within The Caa On Secondary Containment.
At The Time Of The Inspection, The Following Containers Were In Use:
• Five 55-Gallon Polypropylene Drums Of Non-Hazardous Waste (Oily Sludge).
All Containers And Drums Were Observed To Be Properly Closed And Labeled In Accordance With Applicable Rules And Regulations.
Records Review
At The Time Of Inspection, Tg Was Notified As A Used Oil Transporter And Transfer Facility, And They Were Inspected As Such. Tg Became A Registered Facility On December 7, 2022; Therefore, |
